Built as a wooden three-mast schooner by the shipyard of Robert L. Bean in Camden, Maine for?
Launched as the FRANK E. SWAIN.
Tonnage 418 gross, 333 net, dim. 139.2 x 32.0 x 13.0ft.
1909 Completed.

1923 Sold and renamed in L’HERMITE.
1925 Sold most probably to R. Cuinard, Granville, France and renamed in L’ERMINIE. He was in 1930 the owner.
1939 Sold to V. Friboulet, Fécamp, France not renamed.
1942 Engine fitted in.
She was one of the last French sailing vessels on the Grand Banks near New Foundland.
During the Second World War she made a variety of dangerous supply voyages between Saint Pierre and Nova Scotia.
08 May 1946 she was lost around 90 miles west of Saint Pierre under command of Capt. Victor Reux and a crew of 14 men. Eight men were rescued by the Swedish cargo vessel BRAHEHOLM of the A/B Svenska Amerika Linien, but Capt Reux and six men were lost. The crew were all from Saint Pierre.
