HETMAN SAHAYDACHNIY (U130)

Built as a Krivak III class patrol frigate by Kamysh-Burun Zavod 532, Kerch, Ukraine for the Navy of Ukraine.
1991 Ordered. intended name POLTAVA,
29 March 1992 launched under which name I am not sure.
Displacement 3.100 tons standard, 3.510 tons full load. Dim. 123.5 x 14.2 x 4.72m. (draught)
Powered by two cruise gas turbines 12.000 shp; two boost gas turbines , 36.000 shp., maximum power 48.000shp., two shafts, speed 32 knots.
Range: 3.500 miles by a speed of 14 knots, full speed 900 mile.
Armament: SA-N-4 SAM system (20 Gecko missiles), 1 – 100mm DP, 2 – 30mm AA guns. 2 RBU 6000 ASW RL anti submarine rockets, 2 quadruple 21 inch torpedo tubes.
Aft helicopter deck and hangar, carried maximum 2 Ka-27 helicopters.
Crew 180.
02 April 1993 commissioned, under the name HETMAN SAHAYDACHNIY (U 130) named after the Cossack Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachny (1595-1622).
Homeport Sevastopol.
04 July 1993 for the first time the Ukrainian Navy flag has been raised.

Soviet designed and built frigate of the Menzhinskiy class intended for the KGB border patrol.
She was taken over by the navy of the Ukraine nearly completed.

In 1994 she sailed for France to take part in the 50th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy.
In 1995 she visited Abu Dhabi during the “Idex-95” exhibitions.
From 15 November 2006 till 16 November 2007 underwent a refit of 15 million Hryvna in Mykolaiv.

May 2008 she sailed from Sevastopol for the Mediterranean to take part in the NAVO Operation “Active Endeavour”. In that time she will visit also several Mediterranean ports.

The sailing ship in the same set has till so far not be identified.
