RAGAMUFFIN (Ocean Racer)

Post by aukepalmhof » Wed Oct 27, 2010 7:40 pm

Ocean Racers range in size from about seven meters to twenty-four meters in length with a beam of between three and six meters.
Their weight may vary between four and thirty tonnes.
Crews may consist of as few as four members, while some of the largest yachts may require more than twenty to man them.
The smaller yachts compete in regular offshore races and there are state and national championships for Ocean Racers up to nine meters in length.
The larger yachts battle for honours in long ocean races. The most widely known ocean race sailed in Australian waters is the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Stanley Gibbons collect ships on stamps, give the yacht depict the name RAGAMUFFIN, have not any info on the yacht.
