In 2010 Chile celebrated the bicentenary of its independence. One of the
celebration events was a Naval Fleet Review at Valpariso with the sail training
vessel ESMERALDA being used as a viewing platform by the President of Chile.
To commemorate the Fleet Review the Chilean Post Office issued 4 stamps. The
first two se-tenant stamps show scenes from the 1910 Centenary Fleet Review. The
second two se-tenant stamps show 7 vessels of the Chilean Navy sailing in line.
It would appear that the stamps were issued on the day of the Fleet Review – see
the following link ( the philatelic item is 3 mins 30 seconds into the news item

On the second pair of stamps the outer two vessels are of the Dutch Karel
Doorman class:-
15 ALMIRANTE BLANCO ENCALDA
18 ALMIRANTE RIVEROS
The vessels inboard of the two above vessels are of the Dutch Jacob Van
Heemskerck class:-
11 CAPITAN PRAT
14 ALMIRANTE LATORE
The 3 central vessels are of the Royal Navy Type 23 or Duke class:-
05 ALMIRANTE COCHRANE
06 ALMIRANTE CONDELL
07 ALMIRANTE LYNCH
I cannot say in which order the ships appear on the stamps.
Individual ship information to follow this post.
