YESILADA ferry

Built as a ro-ro ferry under yard No 174 by Aalborg’s Vaerft A/S, Alborg, Denmark for Larvik-Frederikshavn Ferjen A/S, Larvik, Norway.
21 June 1966 ordered.
26 June 1967 keel laid down.
16 December 1967 launched as the PETER WESSEL.
Tonnage 3,100 grt, 1,532 net, 550 dwt. Dim. 87.20 x 15.70 x 4.17m. (draught).
Powered by four 12 cyl. Alpha B&W diesel engines, 9,600 bhp., twin shafts, speed 19.5 knots.
Accommodation for 890 passengers, of which 280 had a berth. Could carry 140 cars.
Fitted with bow and stern doors/ramps.
27 May 1968 completed.

May 1968 used in the ferry service between Larvik, Norway to Frederikshavn, Denmark.
24 September 1971 last day in service.
26 September 1971 laid up in Greåker, Norway.
14 December 1971 sold to Denizcilik Bankasi Turkish Marine, Istanbul, Turkey and renamed YESILADA.
1985 Sold to T.D.I. Deniz Yollari Isletmesi, Istanbul.
December 2001 sold to shipbreakers in Turkey.
13 December 2001 arrived under tow at Aliaga, Turkey for demolition by Hurdasan A.S.
