DRONNING ALEXANDRINE, built at Elsinore Shipyard in 1927 (NBI79) for DFDS.
1854Grt. I090Nt. 1695Dwt. L264.0ft. B38.I0ft. DI8.6ft.
A 6-cyl. diesel engine of 1470bhp, built by Burmeister & Wain, speed 13 knots.
The building costs were 1.676.460 DKK. In service between Copenhagen-Leith-Torshavn-Vestmanna-Reykjavik!safjord-Siglufjord-Akureyri-Ofjord-Copenhagen from 22 June 1927 until 1 November 1939, when she arrived at Copenhagen and laid up.
Seized by the Germans on 19 June 1944 and taken to 'Marine lager Frauendorf'. After some conversion used as a barrack vessel at Stettin with the name ALEX.
In January 1945 used as a target vessel for torpedo training, and renamed LOME.
Returned to DFDS 6 August 1945 and renamed DRONNING ALEXANDRINE, and after refit at Elsinore put in service 11 November 1945 on the route CopenhagenTorshavn-Reykjavik.
Sold in 1965 to Walter Ritscher, Hamburg, for demolition, arrlvlng at Hamburg 3 June 1965 where the work commenced on 21 of the same month.
