Built as a research vessel under yard No 930 by Khalkis Shipyard S.A., Khalkis Greece for the Greece Government (National Centre for Marine Research (Ncmr), Hellinikon.
Launched as the AEGAIO.
Tonnage 597 grt, 179 nrt, 78 dwt., dim. 51.11 x 9.60 x 3.20m. (draught)
Two MAN-B&W diesels each 950 bhp., speed 13.5 knots. Service speed 11 knots.
Bunker capacity 80m³.
One bow thruster.
Range, 2.400 miles.
Crew 8 Officers, 14 crew and 16 scientists.
December 1985 completed.

She is built for the research on oceanography, fisheries, geology, hydrographic and pollution in the Mediterranean.
She is fitted out with a 14m² wet laboratory and a 34m² dry laboratory.
1997 Lengthened by 10.5 metre. Tonnage 778 grt, dim. 61.51 x 9.60 x 2.9m. (draught)
Fitted with a hydraulic stern A-frame SWL 10 ton and a side A-frame, SWL 1 ton and one main crane of 3.5 ton.

2015 In service same name and owners, IMO No 8412429.
