Ocean Liner, Gt:24,416, l:198,90m. b:23,24m. depth:8,36m. Beardmore geared turbines:24,000 shp. twinscrew, 20 kn. passengers 1st class:280, 2nd. class:420, 3rd. class:390, 4th. class:660, crew:500.
20-11-'25 maiden voyage Genoa - New York. 01-'32 to Italia Flotta Riunite, Genoa, Genoa - La Plata service. '37 to Lloyd Triestino, 1 voyage Trieste - Shanghai, then refitted in Genoa, Gt:23,255, passengers 1st. class:230, 2nd. class:481, 3rd. class:704,
24-08 first voyage Genoa - Shanghai, '39 chartered to Italia SAN for Genoa - Buenos Aires service.
She took part in the rescue action of the Italian passenger ship ORAZIO, whitch was on fire in the Mediterranean.
Laid up at Colón after Italy entered the war. 12-'41 seized by the US authorities at Balboa, '42 as US Navy transport HERMITAGE (AP 54), '47 returned to the Italia Line as CONTE BIANCAMANO, refitted en lengthened at the shipyards of Monfalcone, Gt:23,562, loa:202,70m. passengers 1st. class:215, cabin class:333, tourist class:1030.
10-11-'49 first post-war voyage Genoa - La Plata, usually in Genoa -New York service during the summer months.
21-04-'60 laid up at Naples, 16-08-'60 arrived at La Spezia, broken up by Terrestre Marittima. Partially saved as a museum, named LEONARDO DA VINCI.
