Built in 1961 by Georgi Dimitrov Shipyard, Varna, #? as Ferry/ General Cargo, Gt:698, Nt:143, Dw:176, L:63,78m. B:9,33m. D:5,85m. Draught:3m. 8 cyl. SKL engine:830 hp. 13 kn. 1 Hold, 1 Crane SWL:1 tons. IMO.6724816. ? Converted into a Research Ship for USSR Academy of Sciences, Tallin. Fate unknown.

Built as a passenger ferry one of Project 543 under yard No 543 by the yard of Georgi Dimitrov in Varna, Bulgaria for the USSR (Black Sea Shipping Co.) at Poti, Russia.
Launched as the AYU-DAG, named after Ayu-Dag or Medved'-gora which is a peak on the south coast of Crimea, Ukraine. It is also known under Russian name Medved'-gora. The peak is located 16 km north-east from Yalta between the towns of Gurzuf and Partenit
Tonnage 1,002 grt, 392 nrt, 175 dwt., dim. 63.78 x 9.33 x 5.85m. draught 3m.
Powered by one 8-cyl. Karl Liebknecht (SKL) diesel engine 830 hp, speed 12.5 knots.
Accommodation for 102 cabin passengers and 110 deck passengers.
One hold, capacity 170 m³.1 crane with SWL of 1 ton.
1961 Delivered.

Used in the service between Odessa to Sevastopol
Approximately 1980 transferred to the Baltic and refitted in an environmental research ship, managed by the Estonian Academy of Sciences at Tallinn.
Tonnage then given as 698 grt, 143 nrt, 176 dwt.
Later managed by the Ukraine Science Academy at Kiev, Ukraine.
1991 Hulked.
2006 Still in existence. IMO No. 6724816.
2013 Not more given in http://www.equasis.org so most probably scrapped.
