AUSTRALIA IV a 12-metre yacht built by Steve E. Ward & Co boatyard at Cove Harbour, Western Australia for the America’s Cup Defence ’87 Ltd. (Alan Bond), Perth, Western Australia, representing the Royal Perth Yacht Club.
Designed by Ben Lexcen.
August 1986 launched as the AUSTRALIA IV KA 16.
Displacement 25.4 ton, dim. 19.90 x 3.72 x 2.71m. (draught) length on waterline 13.77m.
Sail area 160.54 m².

She sailed in the defender eliminations (Louis Vuitton) in which she reached the semi-finals under skipper Colin Beashel, in the finals she met the KOOKABURRA III.
Lost all 5 races sailed and KOOKABURRA III was the Australian defender of the America Cup in Freemantle 1987.
1993 Sold to the Bengal Bay Club Challenge, Ise, Japan not renamed.
2005 Sold to the Bengal Bay Club Challenge (Troy Yaw), Ise. Not renamed.
2008 Same owner but based at Miri, Sarawak, Borneo, not renamed.
2014 Below is given click on the URL what has happened of the AUSTRALIA IV looks renamed in BENGAL 2, she is still in Ise in storage.
