INSHORE RESCUE INFLATABLE (D-class EA-16 lifeboat)

1995 Manufactured by Avon Inflatables as one of the D-class EA-16 for the St John’s Ambulance & Rescue in Guernsey.
Weight 338 kg (745 Lbs), dim. 4.95 x 2 x 0.53m.
One 40 hp Honda four stroke outboard engine, speed 20 knots. Endurance under full speed 3 hours.
Crew 3.
The St John Ambulance Inshore Rescue inflatable dinghy covers places a land-based ambulance can’t reach, including people cut off by the tide or stuck on cliffs. The service was started in the late 1940s and are staffed by professional ambulance staff with extra training in navigation and boat handling. Two of this boats are currently (1999) in service.
