A new set of stamps issued by the Post of the Netherlands shows us 10 ship-models in the possession of the Maritime Museum, Rotterdam.
A recent model is that of the deepwater construction vessel (DCV) AEGIR of the Dutch company Heerema built in 2012, the model is made of synthetic material.
The real ship was built under yard No 3402 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) , Okpo, South Korea for Heerema Shipping 6 BV, Leiden, Netherlands.
Ordered in July 2010.
12 December 2011 laid down.
14 April 2012 launched as the AEGIR.
Tonnage 55,397 grt, 15,068 nrt, 41,105 dwt, dim. 211.5 x 46.2 x 16.1m. length bpp197.6m, draught 8m.
Powered by six diesel generators of a capacity of 8 MW each, which give power to two azimuth demountable stern thrusters each 6.5 MW. Four retractable azimuth thrusters with a capacity of 3.2 each and a bow-thruster of 2.5 MW.
1 Heavy lift crane of 4000 ton with a range between 17 and 40 metre. 2 auxiliary knuckle boom deck cranes of 40 ton lifting capacity each.
AEGIR is equipped with a pipelay tower for a single J-lay and two R-lay, with a lifting capacity of 200 ton and 4000 ton respectively. She can lay pipes up to a water-depth of 3.500 metre.
Accommodation for 289 persons.
January 2013 completed by the yard where after she sailed to Schiedam, Netherlands for the installation of the pipe-lay equipment.
20 September 2013 christened, building cost ca. US$700, under Panama flag and registry.

She was used first to install risers at a depth of 2,000 m in the Lucius Field in the Gulf of Mexico before she will head for Australia to work on the Ichthys LNG Project off Australia.
2015 In service same name and owners, managed by Heereman Marine Contractors-NTH, Leiden, Netherlands, IMO No 9605396.
