This stamp shows us the model of the SINDORO, made as a wooden shipyard model.
The real ship was built as a steel hulled cargo-passenger ship under yard no 90 by N.V. Koninklijke Maatschappij “De Schelde”, Vlissingen (Flushing) Netherlands for N.V. Rotterdamsche Lloyd, Rotterdam.
09 June 1898 ordered.
01 February 1899 laid down.
02 February 1900 launched under the name SINDORO named after a mountain in Java, Indonesia.
Tonnage 5,471 gross, 3,396 net, 4,400 dwt., dim. 129.32 x 15.17 x 8.75m., length bpp 124.4 m.
Powered by two 4-cyl. quadruple expansion steam engines manufactured by the shipsbuilder, 4,000 ihp, twin screws, speed 14 knots.
Accommodation for 80 first class, 38 second, 24 third and 40 steerage passengers.
06 March 1900 trials.
22 March 1900 delivered to owner. Homeport Rotterdam.

Built for the service between the Netherlands and at that time Dutch India now Indonesia.
07 April 1900 sailed on her maiden voyage to Java.
1918 Was she used to transport citizen and severe wounded between England and Germany via the Netherlands.
1922 sold to Companhia Nacional de Navegacão, Lisbon, Portugal and renamed PEDRO GOMES, she arrived 13 September 1922 at the Tagus River. Used in the passenger/mail service between Portugal and the Portuguese territories in Africa.
November 1931 sold to Miyaji Timinosuke for ca.PSt 8,000 with delivery at Japan.
01 December 1931 sailed from Timor for her last voyage to the breakers yard at Osaka, Japan where she was scrapped in 1932.
