ASSAHAN Hr.Ms.

This stamp shows us the wooden yard-model of the Dutch gunboat Hr Ms ASSAHAN.
She was built under yard No 180 by Maatschappij voor Scheepsbouw en Werktuigbouw Fijenoord, Rotterdam as a gunboat for the Royal Dutch Navy.
1899 Laid down.
1900 Launched as Hr Ms ASSAHAN one of the Koetei class, she was named after the Sultanate of Assanhan in Indonesia.
Displacement 710 tons, 788 tons full load, dim. 53.70 x 9.50 x 3.60m.
Powered by two steam engines, 1,380 hp, twin shafts, speed 13.7 knots.
Armament 2 – 10.5 cm gun, 1 mortar 7.5 cm and 6 -3.7 cm guns.
Crew 97.
26 October 1900 commissioned.

This class of three ships was built for service in the Dutch East Indies in the service of the Indische Militaire Marine.
24 November 1900 she sailed for Dutch East India. After arrival in the Dutch East Indies used for patrol service against pirates and suppression of rebellions of the native people.
1905 She took part in an expedition against the rebellion of the Prince of Boni on the island Celebes against the Dutch. She protected the landing of the Dutch troops near Patiru on 20 July 1905. The Dutch troops razed the capital Boni killing 260 men, the Dutch troops lost 26 men.
21 March 1917 commissioned as minesweeper after conversion in Indonesia.
Armament 2 – 10,5 cm and 4 – 3.7 cm guns.
Crew 45/55.
11 December 1924 decommissioned.
1931 Sold, fate unknown.
