Canada Post issued in 1992 a stamp sheet with 12 stamps of 42c for “Our home and native land” after the theme of the Canadian anthem.
Three stamps shows ships.
The stamp of British Columbia is designed after a painting of Christie Passage on Hurst Island in British Columbia, the painting was made in 1962 and the ship in the foreground a tanker carried then the name IMPERIAL VANCOUVER. In the background is the ferry PRINCESS NORAH
Built as a tanker under yard No 89 by Collingwood Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Collingwood, Canada for the Imperial Oil Ltd, Toronto.
September 1938 launched as the IMPERIAL.
Tonnage 1,512 gross, 864 net, dim.230 x 39.8 18.5ft.
Powered by one Fairbanks Morse diesel, 1,400 bhp., speed 12 knots.
1938 completed.

In service on the west coast of Canada.
1946 Renamed in IMPERIAL VANCOUVER.
1949 Owned by Imperial Oil Shipping Co. Ltd. Halifax N.S., not renamed.
1970 Sold to Coral Petroleum Co. Ltd., Bahamas.
1971 Renamed by company in ESSO ANDINA.
The same year sold to Mar. Balboa S.A., Panama and renamed in ACUARIO.
1982 Sold or taken back by Banco Nacional de Panama, Panama.
1984 Sold for scrapping and was scrapped by Gemi-Solum, Aliaga, Turkey.
