PRINCE ALBERT I of MONACO and WHALER

Post by aukepalmhof » Mon Jan 09, 2017 7:41 pm

This stamp of Monaco is partly designed after a wall-painting in the conference room of the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco. The wall-painting is painted by Timayre and shows Prince Albert I of Monaco standing in the bow of a whaler with a harpoon trying to shoot a whale, the whale is not visible on the stamp.
