Latvia has issued in 2017 a new stamp in the series Historical Ships of the 19th Century. This stamp shows us the four-masted fore-and-aft schooner ABRAHAM

Built 1891 by Martins Morgensterns in Windau (now Ventspils), Latvia for M. Stahl, Windau.
Tonnage 368 ton, dim. 136.0 x 27.8 x 13.5 ft.
After completing used in the cargo trade in the home waters of Latvia and Baltic but she made also transatlantic voyages.
She wrecked in the Gulf of Mexico in 1897. She was not lost but repaired on a US yard. Renamed MARGARET.
She is mentioned under that name in the 1897 Record of the American and Foreign Shipping, but without an owner.
She was later sold for a loss to the US Navy. Can’t find any ship built in Latvia in the USS fleet.
Fate unknown.
