The Maldives used on 09 August 1998 a set of stamps of which the 3.50 Rf shows the landing in North Norway on 14 April 1940.
The stamp shows us landing crafts and two troopships landing their troops on a coast. Both ships have not been identified.

On 14 April troops of the Scottish Guards under command of British Admiral William Boyle, Lord Cork landed in Sjøvegen and Salandsverket ca. 55 km. north of Narvik without opposition. The troops were not used in the battle around Narvik but kept as reserve until the Allies withdrawn from Norway.
The Scottish Guard arrived 14 April in Norway from Great Britain on board the Polish ship BATORY after a call at Scapa Flow.
Other ships which took part in the landing in Norway were the REINO DEL PACIFICO and MONARCH OF BERMUDA both ships are depict on stamps.
For cover of the troopships the light cruiser HMS AURORA and the destroyers HMS BRAZEN and FAIRLESS were used.
