ENDEAVOUR cruise vessel 1966

Built as a fish-factory vessel under yard No. 917 by AG Weser, Seebeckwerft, Bremerhaven, Germany for the “Nordsee” Deutsche Hochseefischerei AG., Bremerhaven.
Launched under the name MARBURG. One of the Bonn type factory vessels, of which six were built, the MARBURG was the last of this type.
Tonnage 2.557 gross, 1160 net, dim. 87.69 x 14.03 x 5.20m.
Powered by two 8-cyl. MAK diesel engines, 2.378 kW.
Hold capacity for 1.191 cubic meter deep frozen fish.
10 June 1966 in service, with a crew of 65.
Ice strengthened.

1982 Sold to North Star Line, Oslo, Norway and renamed LINDMAR
26 May 1982 sailed from Cuxhaven to Göteborg, and converted from factory vessel to cruise liner by the Nicoverken in Göteborg.
1983 After delivery renamed in NORTH STAR.
Tonnage 3.095 gross, 1.035 net, 732 dwt., dim. 89.18 x 14.03 x 5.60m.
Accommodation for 169 passengers.

After delivery used for cruise voyages from Norway to the Mediterranean. Later transferred to North Star Cruises, Nassau, Bahamas.
1989 Sold to Salen Lindblad and managed by Columbia Shipmanagement, both Nassau Bahamas, renamed CALEDONIAN STAR.
13 April 1997 sold to Spex Calstar Lt., Nassau, Bahamas.
01 June 2001 renamed in ENDEAVOR.
April 2004 renamed in ENDEAVOUR.
A web-site gives, accommodation for 113 passengers and 64 crew.
2005 renamed in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ENDEAVOUR.

http://www.equasis.org gives for 2009, still owned by the same owner, managed by Lindblad Expeditions, Seattle, USA. IMO No 6611863. Call sign C6BE4, under Bahamas flag.

From 2011onward she specialised in Galapagos expedition cruises of 10 to 16 days.
Her ownership passed to Metrohotel a subsidiary company of Empresa Turistica International of Guayaquil, reflagged to Ecuador, not renamed.
Accommodation for 96 passengers in 56 cabins.
06 May 2017 arrived and broken up by ADELCA shipbreaking near Guayaquil.
