Built 1943 as US Liberty ship JAMES L McKAY by the North Carolina Ship building Co. 7,176 gt. L422'8". B57'. Dr 34'8". Triple exp engine.
Aquired by China Merchants Steam Nav Co 1946 and renamed HAI TIEN. Sold 1955 to Vegas SS Corp, Greece and renamed MARIA THERESA. Sold 1965 to First Freighters Ltd., Capetown and renamed INGRID ANNE. Broken up 1968-69.

Update:

Built as a Liberty dry-cargo vessel type EC2-S-C1 under yard No 180 in 1943 as JAMES L McKAY by the North Carolina Shipbuilding Co., Wilmington NC for the US Government (Warship Administration)
31 June 1943 launched as the JAMES I. McKAY Tonnage 7,176 gt. 4,380 net, 10,865 dwt, dim. 134.6 x 17.3 x 10.61m (draught) Length bpp 126.8m.( L422'8". B57'. Dr 34'8".) 1 Triple 3 cyl. steam expansion engine, 2,500hp, speed 11 knots maximum.
The crew under USA flag 38-62.
Armament: Stern-mounted 4-in (102 mm) deck gun for use against surfaced submarines, variety of anti-aircraft guns, armament removed after the war.
August 1943 completed.

1946 Acquired by China Merchants Steam Nave Co. Ltd, Shanghai, and renamed HAI TIEN. 1949 Evacuated to Keeling, Taiwan.
1951 Sold to Vegas SS Corp. Monrovia, renamed in MARIA THERESA.
1960 Transferred to Vegas SS Corp. Ithaka, Greece, not renamed.
1965 Sold to First Freighters Pty. Ltd, Cape Town, and renamed INGRID ANNE.
26 November 1967 she arrived at Mukaishima, Japan for scrapping.
