Built as a cargo-passenger vessel by Wigham Richardson & Co., Newcastle for Marques de Campo, Madrid.
Launched under the name TURIA.
Tonnage 2.555 gross, 1.720 net, dim. 99.46 x 11.74 x 8.16m.
One 2-cyl. steamengine 313 hp., one propeller.
Accommodation for 44 first class, 24 second and 32 third class passengers, carried also deck passengers.
1882 Delivered to owners.

The Spanish company Marquis de Campo began in 1882 a regular liner service on the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean with six ships the ESPANA, SANTO DOMINGO, TURIA, VENEZUELA, COLON and SAN AGUSTIN after he got a mail contract.
Around 1885 was she renamed in LANDSDOWNE TOWER most probably for a charter to an English company, I can not find a new owner.
1884 Sold to Compania Transatlántica, Spain and renamed in SAN FRANCISCO.
With these ship the company opened the new line to Fernando Poo, she left Barcelona on 20 December 1887 for her first voyage in this service.
She was used in this service, only when the Spanish Government her needed as troop transport to Cuba or the Philippines, or when needed as a coal transport for the squadron of Admiral Cervera she left this service.
1913 Sold to Lines des Vapores Cia Tintoré, Barcelona, renamed TELMA.

19 December 1916 in collision on the River Mersey, U.K. with the tug SEA COCK, she was badly damaged and condemned and broken up.
