SAFFARI DJEMA or MAORÉ MAWE

Mr. Jean-Louis Araignon gives that the vessel depict on the Mayotte stamp with the inscription Les Amphidromes is the SAFFARI DJEMA or MAORÉ MAWA and I agree, which is depict is unsure it are sisterships and used by the same company and country.

Both are built by Société des Etablissements MERRE at North-sur-Erdre, France for the Collectivite Territoriale de Mayotte (Services des Transports).

SAFFARI DJEMA built under yard No. 2007 and completed 28 June 2004. IMO No 9324887.
MAORÉ MAWA built under yard No. 2008 and also completed on 28 June 2004. IMO No. 9324899

Details of both ships are the same: ro-ro ferries.
Tonnage 335 gross, 200 dwt., dim. 49 x 12 x 3m., draught 1.61m., length bpp. 38m.
Powered diesel electric by 3 diesels manufactured by ABB Motors Oy., Vaasa, Finland total 904 hp., connected to 3 Baudouin 6M28SR electric generators of each 326 kW each, connected to 4 electrical propulsion generators, each 166 kW.
Propelled by 4 Schottel Pump-Jet solid 5 blades propellers.
Accommodation for 110 passengers and 27 cars.

Homeport Dazoudzi, Mayotte.

The two ferries arrived at Dazoudzi in September 2004 and came in service on 04 October 2004, and she link Colas quay on Grande-Terre with the Ballou quay at Petite-Terre, in a half hour service.
