Three stamps of this set which are made after real photo’s of the objects are interesting for the shipstamp collector.
The VOC stamp shows us the replica of the VOC ship AMSTERDAM.
The port of Rotterdam with a variety of ships, not one so far identified.

Arrived 10 Sept. 1982 by the AG Weser Seebeckwerft for lengthening. On 27 November the lengthening by fitting in a 27.7m. prefabricated amidship section was completed.

1984 Sold to the Norway Caribbean Lines (Klosters Cruise Ltd.), Oslo.
1985 The ROYAL VIKING SKY visited the Island of Man; she is depict on the Man stamp while she lays in Douglas Bay, with on the right of the stamp the Tower of Refuge.
1987She visited Fremantle, Western Australia for the 1987 America’s Cup, but arrived after the event was over. Nevertheless, she was the first Royal Viking Line ship to visit Fremantle.
1991 Renamed in SUNWARD, used for 4-day cruises between Miami and the Bahamas.
The same year sold to the Birka Line AB, Finland, renamed in BIRKA QUEEN.
From 15 May 1992 sailed from Stockholm to St Pietersburg and Riga.
Autumn 1992 transferred to the Birka Cruise Ltd., Bahamas, renamed again in SUNWARD, and chartered by Klosters Cruise Ltd. from 15 October 1992 till 15 May 1993.
22 May 1992 chartered by the Princess Cruises of the P & O, renamed in GOLDEN PRINCESS.
Used in the 7day and 10day cruises from Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera.
Jan.1997 sold to Superstar Capricorn Ltd. (Malaysia’s Star Cruises), Panama, renamed SUPERSTAR CAPRICORN. Chartered by Manhattan Cruises and used as an overnight gambling ship from New York.
1998 Renamed in HYUNDAI KIMGANG. Used in cruise service between South and North Korea for the Hyundai Merchant Marine, who chartered her.
The service ended in a failure, and after her charter of two years with Hyundai she returned to Superstar Capricorn Ltd., renamed again in SUPERSTAR CAPRICORN.
January 2001 sold to Viajes Iberojet, Spain, renamed GRAND LATINO.
Used in the Mediterranean cruise trade.
January 2005 Sold to Fred Olsen, Norway, and delivered to Fred Olsen in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Canaries Islands in November 2005, renamed BOUDICCA.
03 December 2005 arrived by the yard of Blohm & Voss, Hamburg for repair on the engines.
February 2006 used for world wide cruises.
