AUSTRALIAN EXPORTER container vessel

Built as a container vessel under yard No 973 by Bremer Vulkan A.G. at Vegesack, Germany for the Australian Shipping Commission (The Australian National Line) at Melbourne.
29 March 1972 launched as the AUSTRALIAN EXPORTER.
Tonnage 23.486 grt, 15.326 net, 26.096 dwt., dim. 217.25 x 29.04 z 15.93m, length bpp. 205.75m., draught 10.82m.
Powered by two Stal-Laval steam turbines, manufactured by the shipbuilder, 32.000shp., speed 19.5 knots.
One bow thruster.
Capacity of 1.208 TEU’s.
05 June 1972 completed.

1990 Sold to unspecified owners at St Vincent, renamed ALI.
The same year resold to Raisun Investment Inc. S.A. (Mediterranean Shipping Co. S.A.), Panama and renamed MSC MIRELLA.
Sold by the company to Indian shipbreakers and she arrived at Alang on 17 April 1999.
