HAIROUN STAR

Built in 1958 under yard No 1058 by D.W. Kremer Sohn, G.m.b.H. & Co, at Elmshorn, Germany for Skips A/S Rana (G.A. Amundsen), Sandnessjøen, Norway.
06 January 1958 launched under the name RANEN.
Tonnage 500 gross, 271 net, 520 dwt, dim. 49.28 x 8.54 x 3.12m.
Powered by one Deutz Oil 4SA 6 cy. Diesel engine, 635 bhp., speed 11 knots.

1968 Sold and renamed HIGHLAND BLAZER.
1975 Renamed in DECCA TRACKER for the Government of St Vincent. Tonnage given as 487 gross, 340 net, 528 dwt. She was registered at Kingstown, St Vincent.
1979 Renamed in HAIROUN STAR, Hairoun is the old Indian name for St Vincent.
In the late 1980 early 1990 I did see her in Santa Lucia, in a not so good condition, but still used in trading.
2007 Still sailing under the same name. Owners unknown. IMO No. 5290076.

16 June 2011 deleted from Lloyds Registry, existence in doubt
