F 2 submarine

Built as an experimental coastal submarine by White at Cowes, Isle of Wight for the Royal Navy.
30 November 1914 keel laid down.
07 July 1917 launched as F2. One of the F class of which three were built.
Displacement 363 tons surfaced, 525 tons submerged. Dim. 46 x 4.9 x 3.2m. (draught).
Powered by two diesel engines, 900 bhp, two electric motors 400 shp, twin screws speed surfaced 14.5 knots, submerged 8.75 knots.
Armament 1 – 2pdr. gun, 3 – 18 inch torpedo tubes, two bow one stern. Carried 8 torpedoes.
Crew 2 officers and 16 men.
02 August 1917 completed.
22 August 1917 commissioned under command of Lt. A.G. Cunard.

1917 First in the 8th Flotilla based in Great Yarmouth.
1918 Portsmouth.
The same year for training based at Campbeltown, Scotland
July 1922 sold for scrap to C. Welton, Portsmouth.
