Skomvaer

Post by shipstamps » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:50 pm

Literally "Foamsailor" the Skomvaer was notable for the double-spanker, a very unusual feature in Norwegian vessels. She was built in 1890 at Laksevag near Bergen by Laksevag Verksted for Jorgen C Knudsen of Porsgrunn, sold to O C Azelsen of Flekkefjord in 1915 and in 1917 to S O Stray & Co., of Kristiansand.
She was scrapped in 1924 at Stavanger. SG503
