Launched under the name METEOR.
Tonnage 2.615 gross, 1.081 net, 3.054 dwt., dim. 269 x 44.3 x 16.10ft.
Powered; diesel electric by four 6-cyl. Maybach diesels, 2.000 shp., speed 14 knots.
Accommodation for 55 crew and 24 scientists.
1964 Delivered.
1985 Sold to the Government of New Zealand (Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research) renamed RAPUHIA, also used as a research vessel. Manned by crew of the Union Steamship Co.
1992 Sold to Wirana Paper Sales Ltd.,San Lorenzo, Honduras.
1994 Renamed RUPHIA, still under Honduras flag, owners unknown.
1994 Broken up, most probably she made the voyage to the breakers under the name RUPHIA. (Marine News 1994/623 gives the name RAPHIA.)
