Built in 1970 by Smith & Rhuland Shipyard, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (Canada) for HMS ROSE Foundation, Black Rock Harbour Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Based on the original 18th. century British Admiralty drawings. She is based on HMS ROSE, 6th. rate frigate, built in 1757.
Displacement:508 tons, Loa:54,71m. L.deck:41,30m. B:9,80m. Draft:4m. sail area:1200m². (13.000 ft².)
2001 sold to 20th. Century Fox, homeport San Diego, California, renamed in SURPRISE.
2007 sold to Maritime Museum of San Diego.
