Built as a passenger-cruise vessel under yard No 693 by Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany for the Norwegian Cruise Line.
19 September 2014 first section placed.
15 August 2015 launched as the NORWEGIAN ESCAPE.
165,157 grt, 11,700 dwt, dim. 325.9 x 41.4 x 8.62m. (draught)
Powered diesel electric by 2 MAN 14V48/60CR (2 – 16,800 kW). 3 MAN 12V48/60CR (3 – 14,400 kW) and 1 Carterpillar 3516C DH (1 – 2,500 kW.) Driven two ABB Azipod XO units (2 – 20 MW0 and three Brunvoll AS FU 115LTC 3000 thrusters (3 – 3.5 MW)
Accommodation for 4,266 passengers and 1,733 crew.
October 2015 completed.

09 November 2015 maiden voyage. Registered in the Bahamas with homeport Nassau.
NORWEGIAN ESCAPE is a cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line, in service since October 2015. It was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
Design and description
NORWEGIAN ESCAPE is a Breakaway Plus-class cruise ship, which also includes NORWEGIAN JOY and NORWEGIAN BLISS. The Breakaway Plus class are being built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, for Norwegian Cruise Line. The vessel entered service in October 2015, where it completed a series of short preview sailings from Hamburg, Germany and Southampton, UK. The 164,600 GT ship departed Southampton on 29 October 2015 on her transatlantic crossing to Miami, where the ship will be based year-round offering seven-night Caribbean cruises.
The name of the ship was selected in a contest on USA Today. In 2014, Guy Harvey was chosen to paint the hull art.
The NORWEGIAN ESCAPE is homeported in Port Miami, sailing seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruising to Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas. Norwegian Getaway will move to the western Caribbean run.
The first section was launched on 5 December 2014. A second section was launched 21 February 2015. NORWEGIAN ESCAPE was floated out of Meyer Werft's building hall on 15 August 2015, with sea trials beginning on 16 September. She was officially delivered to Norwegian Cruise Lines on 22 October., and took circa 3500 passengers on the inaugural passenger cruise from Southampton to Miami, leaving Southampton (UK) on Thursday 29 October, arriving in Miami on Sunday 8 November
On 9 November 2015, the first godfather to a cruise ship, Pitbull the rapper, officially named the ship at a naming ceremony in Miami.
May 2020 In service, same name and owner, IMO No 9677076. Underway to Gibraltar.
