75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgaria 1878-1953

A raft being used for military purpose is shown on a Bulgarian stamp issued in 1953 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgarian 1878-1953.
The temporary raft seen on this stamp is made of eight rowing boats. A platform of planks has been constructed across the boats and this is transporting a Russian field gun, its gunners and horses across the Danube River.
Four rowers in the rowing boats provided propulsion.
I believe the stamp is designed partly from a painting which shows us the crossing of the Russian troops in 1877 on the Danube at Zimnitsy.
