The Portugeuse PTT gives by the stamp:
Oil Tanker NOGUEIRA 1979-1986 Soponata — Sociedade Portuguesa de Navios Tanques, Lisbon The supertanker Nogueira was one of the largest Portuguese ships ever and the first of its kind built in Portugal (by Setenave), albeit to a Swedish design. It entered service in 1979 as the second of three vessels in Soponata’s ‘N’ class — NEIVA, NOGUEIRA, and NISA. It proved an excellent ship, confirming the shipyard’s prediction in 1979 that it would ‘sail like a charm.’ It was sold in 1986 for financial reasons but continued to sail for major international shipowners until 2005. Confirming the excellent quality of its construction, the ship was then repurposed for floating crude oil storage (FSO — Floating, Storage, Offloading) and, under the name FERNAN VAZ, served off the coast of Gabon until 2023. It is due to be recycled in 2024.
