In the autumn of 2012, from the Prut River, near Măcăreşti Village (Măcăreşti Commune, Ungheni District), Moldova, a wooden boat was recovered. The boat has a length of 5 m, a width of 0,7 m and a height of 0,47 m. Inside of the boat three banquets are spared in the carved trunk. Now, the precise chronology of the boat, in the absence of analogies and radiocarbon dates, is not possible yet. The boat of Măcăreşti is the first discovery of this kind certainly documented in the Prut Basin. This discovery can provide us very important informations about the navigation of rivers and about the types of boats used.
