Bosnia and Herzegovina issued in 2002 two stamps and a miniature sheet which shows us two ancient Roman merchant ships. At that time Bosnia was part of Roman.
The 1.20 M shows us a Roman galley viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10800
The 1.80 M stamp is mostly given as a Roman galleon, but I think it is more a Roman “corbita” a large full-bodied Roman merchant vessel of the 1st-3rd centuries A.D.. Believed to have carried mainly grain and reported to have traveled from Red Sea ports to India as well as in the Mediterranean.
Sharp curved ends extended above the deck; the bottom had a rocker keel. Cabin house aft; heavy quarter rudders.
Mainmast stepped amidship, setting a large square sail, sometimes with a triangular sail above. A small square sail might be suspended out over the bow.
One is estimated to be 25m long and 6-7m wide; with a capacity of about 400 tons.
