Built as a ferry/pack/ro-ro vessel under yard no 1244 (aft section) by, Nuovi Cantiere Apuania SPA, Marina di Carrara, Italy, while the forward section was buit by Finantiert-Cant, Nav. Italiani S.p.A.,
Crimaldi Holdng, Genva, Italy.
27 June 2007 ordered.
21 March 2008 laid down.
Launched under the name ENERGIA.
Tonnage: 25,518 grt, 11,501 net, 8,500 dwt., dim. 198.99 x 26.6 x 5.7m (draught), length bpp.176.9m.
Powered by two 12-cyl. Wartsila-Vasa diesel engines, each 12,000 kW, speed 24 knots.
Passenger accommodation 600 passenger, 120 cars.
13 August 2010 delivered. Homeport Genoa, IMO no 9458535.

After delivery laid up in Marina di Carrara.
August 2011 chartered by DFDS Seaways, and managed by Norbulk Ship Management for 38 months with an option to purchase the vessel.
22 September 2011 renamed in REGINA SEAWAYS.
