PETER BURLING
Born in New Zealand in 1991, Pete (then aged 21) was the youngest 49er sailor at the 2012 London Olympics and won the Silver Medal together with Blair Tuke. At the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, once again, Pete was the youngest ever 49er Olympic Gold Medal skipper. He and Blair Tuke won with two races to spare and by an overall 43 point margin. Pete, who was the skipper of the winning boat in the 2013 Red Bull Youth Americas Cup, joined Emirates Team New Zealand in 2014.
In 2017 at the age of 26 he got another record by being the youngest ever helmsman to win the America’s Cup. Soon after bringing back the Cup to New Zealand he jumped onboard Team Brunel for the 2017/18 Volvo Ocean Race closing in 3rd position.
Pete took over as Skipper for the 36th America's Cup defence in Auckland, and continues that role for the 37th America's Cup Campaign, in Barcelona .

BLAIR TUKE
Born in the Far North of New Zealand in 1989, Blair started sailing at the age of 11. After a second place in the 29er at the Youth Worlds in 2007 he teamed up with Peter Burling in 2008. Together they won 4 consecutive World Championships in the 49er and all 28 of the major regattas in the 49er between the London Olympics (2012) and the Rio Olympics (2016) – a record for this Olympic class. Blair and Pete won the Gold Medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and the Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympics in London in the 49er.
In January 2014 Blair signed with Emirates Team New Zealand for the 35th America’s Cup and being, among other things, the flight controller onboard the AC50, he played a key role in winning the Cup. Soon after bringing back the Cup to New Zealand he jumped onboard MAPFRE for the 2017/18 Volvo Ocean Race closing in 2nd position. Blair again took charge of the teams flight control for the 36th America's Cup, and reprises that role for the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona.
