Built as a cargo- reefer vessel by Langesunds MV of Langesund, Norway for Ludvig Lorentzen, Lysaker.
Launched under the name BAHIA.
Tonnage 2.440 gross, 1.083 net, 3.390 dwt., dim. 366.10 x 47.2 x 19.9ft. (draught).
Powered by one 4-cyl. Doxford diesel engine 2.600 bhp., speed 14 knots.
1953 Completed.

1964 Renamed by owners in ITALIAN. (most probably for a time-charter renamed.)
1966 Renamed by owners in BAHIA.
The same year sold to China Navigation Co. Ltd. (the John Swire & Co. Group.) U.K., renamed PAPUAN CHIEF.
She was then converted to sideport loading by the Taikoo Drydock for the service from Australia to New Guinea.
03 May 1969 chartered by Burns, Philp & Co. Ltd., Sydney for Australia/New Guinea trade, renamed MARSINA.
Nov. 1970 redelivered to the Swire Group, and renamed PAPUAN CHIEF.
August 1975 sold to Maldives Shipping Co. Ltd. at Male renamed MALDIVE CORAL.
1979 Sold to Metal Scrap Trade Corp. Bombay, and 12 November 1979 delivered to Akberally & Co. Ltd., Bombay for breaking up.
