LADY DENISON PENDER

Built as a cable ship under yard No 597 by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Glasgow, Scotland for Eastern Telegraph Co. Ltd., London.
29 May 1920 launched as the LADY DENISON-PENDER.
Tonnage 1.984 gross, 1.814 net, 841dwt., dim. 269.2 x 38.1 x 23.8ft.
Powered by two 6-cyl steam engines, manufactured by builder, 352nhp., twin shafts, speed 10 knots.
September 1920 completed.

She was built as a repair ship and after fitting out by the Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Company based at Aden.
1929 Transferred to Imperial and International Communications Ltd.
1939 Sold to Cable and Wireless Ltd., London.

During World War II was she crewed by men from St Helena, and most of the wartime she spent in the South Atlantic.
After the war again based at Aden, later transferred to the West Indies till she was taken out of service.

19 October 1963 arrived at Antwerp, Belgium for breaking up.
