Built under yard no 477 by Sir Raylton Dixon & Co., Ltd. Middlesbrough for the Imperial Direct West India Mail Service Co., Ltd. (Elder, Dempster & Co.), Bristol.
22 March 1901, launched under the name PORT ANTONIO, named after a small port on the north-side of Jamaica. I have been many times in this port with a vessel loading tropical fruits, mostly bananas.
Tonnage 4.458 gross, 2.482 net, dim 112.83 x 14.17 x 6.7m. She was a sister ship of the PORT ROYAL.
Two triple expansion steam engines, manufactured by Richardson, Westgarth & Co., Middlesbrough, 799 nhp, speed 14 knots, twin screws.
Passenger accommodation 100 first and 50 2nd class.
Used in the Avonmouth-West Indies service.

1911 Sold to Hadji Ibrahim Mani Zade, Constantinople, Turkey, renamed RECHID PACHA.
The same year sold to Administration de Nav. & Vapeur Ottomane, Constantinople not renamed.
Used in the Black Sea passenger service.
1914-1919 Hospital ship or transport, both are given in the Turkish Navy list.
1924 Transferred to Administration de Nav. & Vapeur Turque, Istanbul.
1929 Sold to Turkiye Seyrisefain Idaresi, Istanbul, renamed RESIT PASA.
1934 Transferred to the Turkish Navy, in use as an accommodation ship, a reported conversion to a submarine tender never took place.
1940 Broken up at Gülcük. (other sources gives 1940 removed from service and sold for scrap in 1953)
