The 6 + 4 cents stamp depicts a coaster. Designed by Mr. H. H. Kamerlingh Onnes, of Voorschoten, the vessel shown is undoubtedly typical of the hundreds of ubiquitous Dutch coasters. Nevertheless it is a disappointment to the ship stamp collector for it represents no particular vessel. Mr. Onnes apparently made several visits to Rotterdam to look at coasters there and afterwards made his sketch of what he considered a characteristic kind of craft.
