I have received from M. Guy Flauvel, of Le Havre, a most attractive first day cover for the French "Day of the Stamp" issue which depicts the paddle-wheel steamship La Guienne She was launched at La Ciotat on October 15, 1859 and was of 1,200 gross tons, 96 metres long and with 460 h.p. engines. This vessel made 33 voyages from Bordeaux to Rio de Janeiro and back, the first voyage leaving on May 29 and arriving at her home port again on July 20, 1860. Her last round voyage commenced on July 25, 1869, returning on September 17, 1869
