Built as an iron cargo-passenger vessel under yard No. 124 by A/S Burmeister & Wain’s Maskin-og Skipsbyggeri yard, Copenhagen for the Det Forenede Dampskipselskap (DFDS), Copenhagen.
15 July 1882 launched under the name LAURA.
Tonnage 1.068 gross, 689 net, 960 dwt. Dim. 229.6 x 30.3 x 24.0ft.
One compound 4-cyl. steam engine, 750 ihp, speed 11.5 knots.
Accommodation for 46 first, 44 second and 120 in all.
09 November 1882 delivered to owners.

14 November 1882 sailed from Copenhagen on her maiden voyage in the service from Copenhagen to Leith-Faroe Islands and Iceland.
Between 1884 and 1896 she made a call at Granton instead of Leith.
She was not always used in the service between Denmark, Scotland, Faeroe and Iceland, but now and then she made other voyages.
16 December 1895 till 24 December 1895 she made a return voyage from Copenhagen to Newcastle.
25 December 1905 she made a return voyage from Copenhagen to Köningsberg.
06 September 1906 a return voyage from Copenhagen to St Petersburg.
20 November 1907 she made a return voyage to Stettin.
09 December 1908 she made a voyage again to Stettin and the west coast of Norway, returned back in Copenhagen on 31 December 1908.
25 December 1909 an other voyage from Copenhagen to Köningsberg.

On a voyage from Seydisfjord_Saudarkrok, Iceland with on board passengers and general cargo, grounded she near Skagastrand, Iceland, and was lost.
Crew, passengers were all rescued.
The wreck was later sold for 1.500 Kr.
During her lifetime of 28 years she made 204 voyages to Iceland.
