CASTOR chemical tanker 1989

Built under yard No 1150 as a chemical tanker by Fukuoka Zosen K.K., Fukuoka, Japan for CMS Steamship Co. Ltd., Liberia.
08 March 1989 launched under the name CASTOR, named after a star, sisterships POLUX, BETELGEUSE and RIGEL.
Tonnage 2.041 gross, 934 net, 3.223 dwt., dim. 88.6 x 13.6 x 6.5m., length bpp 82.0m.
One 4-cyl 2SA Mitsui/B&W oil engine, 1.980 hp., speed 12.4 knots.
1989 Completed.

2009 as given by http://www.equasis.org : Owned and managed by Navibulgar, Varna, under Bulgarian flag. IMO No. 8813130, call sign LZGY.

2009 Sold to EKO-Athina Shipping, Athens< renamed first in ATHINA but the same year changed in EKO 3, Greek flag and registry.

2019 Sold to Dido Steel Corp. S.A, Monrovia, Liberia, under Togo flag and registry, for her last voyage to the breakers in Aliaga, Turkey.
04 September 2019 arrived there and was broken up by Leyal Ship Recycling yard.

Bulgaria 1992 50s sg 3871, Scott 3728 (The name is given wrong by SG and Scott as KASTOR not a ship under that name have sailed for Navibulgar.)
