Built in 1983in Norway under yard No 1557 by A/S Fjellstrand Aluminium Yachts, Omastrand as a twin hull tender for the oil exploration, for Compagnie des Moyens de Surface adaptés á l’Exploitation des Océans (SURF).
Launched under the name ANAHITRA.
Tonnage 270grt, 144 net, 50 dwt., dim 31.53 x 9.42 x 2.32m., length bpp. 29m., draught 1.71m.
Powered by two V Oil 4SA, each 12-cyl. geared to shaft, 4.320 bhp. Speed 25 knots
Passengers 160.

From May 1995 till May 1998 in the service from St Pierre to Fortune, New Foundland.
SURF was formed in February 1972 by Chambon, with a minority interest by the shipping company Messageries Maritimes and Comex.
The company is based in Marseille and specialized in exploration of the ocean depths and hyperbaric technology.
SURF,s main activity is setting up, equipping and resupplying offshore oil rigs. The company is also involved in piloting and assisting tankers.
SURF is today a subsidiary of Groupe Bourbon.
2000 Sold to Cubana Caribena Naviera, Nueva Gerona, Cuba and renamed BELLAMAR.
Used as a ferry between Isla de La Juventud, the tourist resorts of Cayo Largo, and the mainland of Cuba.
2016 http://www.equasis.org gives IMO No. 8205632, 270 gross ton, owned and managed by Prcticos de Cuba, Havana. Type of ship given as crewboat.
