ASTRAGALE. Oil Drill Ship built 1945 as SKUA by J Pollack & Sons. 1149Gt. L96'9". B42’6". Dr18'. 2 Mulhouse diesels. 12-cy1. 1700bhp. 12kn. Purchased 1964 by Soc Nay. Nantes. Converted to Oil Drill Ship. Renamed ASTRAGALE. Sold 1979 to Cosag Marine. Renamed HYDROCALE - Ivory Coast 1978. 60f. SG556 (Woad)

According to MIRAMAR, ASTRAGALE was built as HMS WALRUS, a naval air stores carrier, in 1945 by Blyth DD. She was commissioned on 10 December 1945.

J J Colledge’s Ships of the Royal Navy states that in 1953 she was renamed HMS SKUA and in 1962 was sold for mercantile use.
