LOSNA cargo vessel

Built as a cargo-vessel under yard no 507 by the yard of Sir Raylton Dixon & Co. Ltd., Middelsbrough for Vilhelm Torkildsen, Bergen, Norway.
16 April 1904 launched under the name ADMIRAL BØRRESEN.
Tonnage 4.187 gross, 2.665 net, 6.700 dwt., dim. 360 x 50.2 x 17.9ft.
Powered by 3-cyl. triple expansion steam engine, manufactured by North Eastern Marine Engineering Co. Ltd., Newcastle. 2.000 ihp., speed 11 knots.
14 June 1904 completed.

26 Sept. 1912 sold to Den Norske Afrika og Australia Line (W.Wilhelmsen & Fearnley & Eger), Tonsberg, Norway. Bought for 620.000.00 NKr.
Renamed LOSNA after a lake in the Øyer and Ringebu districts of Norway. There is also an island (Losneøy) in Gulen district, Sognefjord.
On a voyage from Viborg via Capetown loaded with timber and bound for Delagoa Bay, she ran aground on 27 Nov. 1921 and was lost 20 miles east of Great Fish Point, Ciskei, South Africa.
After grounding she broke in two and was a total loss.
