CARAVALHO ARAUJO

Built as passenger/cargo vessel under yard No 216 by C.N. Triestone, Monfalcone, Italy for Empresa Insulana de Navegaçao, Portugal.
16 December 1929 launched under the name CARAVALHO ARAÜJO.
Tonnage 4.560 grt, 2.694 net, 3.575 dwt., dim. 105.6 (bpp) x 15.30 x 8.11m.
Powered by two 6-cyl triple expansion steamengines, manufactured by J.G. Kincaid & Co. Ltd., 735 nhp., twin screws. Speed 14 knots.
March 1930 completed. Building cost 15.500.000 escudos.

Used in the liner service between Lisbon, Madeira and the Azores.
1972 Sold for scrapping her delivery voyage to the breakers she made under the name MARCEU.
November 1972 scrapped by Americo Vale at Aviles near Lisbon.
