Built as a container vessel under yard No 854 by A.Vuijk & Zonen Scheepswerf N.V., Capelle, Netherlands for Sea Containers Chartering Ltd. U.K.
16 October 1970 launched as the TIGRIS but before delivery renamed in TRONTO.
Tonnage 1,599 grt, 2,174 dwt., dim. 85.3 x 13.8m., length between pp 78.9m.
Powered by? speed 13 knots.
January 1971 completed.

1972 Chartered by the Ellerman Lines, Liverpool for the U.K. Mediterranean container service, renamed in CITY OF LA SPEZIA.
1979 Out of charter and renamed again in TRONTO.
1979 Sold to Atlantic Intrepid Ltd., Cayman Islands, renamed ATLANTIC INTREPID.
1984 Sold to Bahia Shipping Ltd., Cayman Islands and renamed HYBUR INTREPID.
1997 Renamed by owners in ISLAND INTREPID.
1998 As owner given Island Intrepid.
2000 Under Antigua and Barbuda registry and flag.
2003 Under the flag of St Vincent and Grenadines.

2009 Managed by the Bernuth Lines, Miami and used in the service between Miami and Nicaragua.
Same owner, IMO No. 7033161.

2016 Renamed in AC SANDINO under Tanzania flag and registry.
2019 In service. Same name.
