Built as a tanker under yard No 820 by Ishikawajima-Harima heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan for the Uruguayan Navy.
25 August 1961 keel laid down.
17 January 1962 launched as the PRESIDENTE ORIBI (AO 9).
Tonnage 18,584 grt, 28,267 dwt, dim. 189.51 x 25.78 x 13.31m.
Powered by a steam turbine 12,500 hp, speed 16.75 knots, one shaft.
Crew 76.
22 March 1962 completed.

She was the first Uruguayan Navy tanker, and also used as a training school vessel for cadets.

23 February 1978 till 06 September 1978 laid up at Montevideo.
Sold by the Uruguayan Government to Taiwan shipbreakers.
23 October 1978 arrived Kaohsiung from Montevideo.
Broken up by Dah Yung Steel Manufacture Co. Ltd., which commenced with demolition on 14 November 1978.
