The Antverpia 2009 MS gives the skyline of Antwerp in the margin of the MS, with alongside the frigate LOUISE-MARIE of the Belgium Navy and the FLANDRIA 18 behind, and the JAN PLEZIER 2 on the left of the sheet.
Built as a multipurpose frigate under yard No 365 by the Royal Schelde Group, Vlissingen (Flushing) for the Dutch Royal Navy.
06 November 1985 first section laid down.
21 January 1989 launched as the Hr. Ms. WILLEM VAN DER ZAAN (F931), named after the Dutch Vice-Admiral Willem van der Zaan (1621-1669). She was one of the Karel Doorman class frigates.

Powered: GODOG, two Rolls-Royce Spey gas turbines, delivering 33.800 shp., and two Stork diesel engines delivering 9,790 shp., twin shafts, speed 30 knots.
Armament two quadruple launchers for Harpoons SSMs, one Mk 48 VLS for 16 Sea Sparrow SAMs, 1 – 76mm Mk 100 DP gun, one Goalkeeper 30mm CIWS, 2 – 20mm AA guns, two twin Mk 32 torpedo tubes for Mk 32 torpedo tubes for Mk 46 lightweight ASW torpedoes.

She played a key role in various international operations and drug interceptions when under Dutch flag.
In 1994 she did give assistance during the restoration of democracy in Haiti.
During 1998 did give assistance during hurricane Mitch on Saba and hurricane George in Honduras.
September 2001 was used for patrol duty in the Mediterranean in “Operation Active Endeavour”.
Took part in many anti drug operations in the Dutch Netherlands Antilles and Suriname, in which much cocaine was intercepted.
25 August 2006 decommissioned.
22 December 2005 sold to Belgium.
08 April 2008 rechristened in Antwerp by Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium in LOUISE-MARIE (F931).
